Meet Stephanie Turner, the Director and Manager of The Accounts Team – North Shore.
A little about Stephanie, did you know she hasn’t always been an accountant, she actually started as a Laboratory Technologist, specialising in Haematology and Microbiology! Stephanie worked at National Woman’s Hospital as well as the Animal Health Laboratory at MAFF. Although Stephanie thoroughly enjoyed working in this field she also found that she had a passion for something else, so the change from science to accounting was made.
Stephanie began studying for a Bachelor of Business Studies through Massey University. During this time, she met her husband Phil, who was already a successful small business owner. So whilst doing the day to day bookkeeping for him, raising three children, and working in the accounting field, Stephanie completed her degree.
After more study Stephanie gained her Chartered Accountant status and started contracting to accounting firms. Then, In 2007, Stephanie and her husband had a midlife crisis, the kids were pulled out of school, the house was sold and they traveled the world for a year, visiting around 32 countries!
After arriving back, she went out in Public Practice as a chartered accountant before we were lucky enough to have her on board with The Accounts Team.
Stephanie has worked with many small business owners over the years and along with being a small business owner herself, has seen a real need for a quality bookkeeping service to help businesses with their day to day accounts.
